Do you have anymore details? Stock untouched motor other than FMIC and exhaust? Could be possible boost leak or dirty maf... Does it backfire and wander at a higher rpm? How old is gas? Sometimes bad coolant temp sensor cause erratic idling. You might also want to shoot it with the timing light verify that it is correct.

i shot it with timing light and its 15 before top dead center.... its got walbro, fmic, straight 3" fence post pipe no cat nothing... just cleaned maf before video in hope of cure but no cure. and yeah it does backfire when i barelly press on the gas while in gear driving , and when revving SOMETIMES.. im guessing boost leak but I believe everything is on right... and I got to adjust the IAVC how exaclty do i do that cause a friend messed with it back when my injectors were fucking up and my idle was bad camo and the guys remember.. ended up being my maf i got a new one and it fixed problem but ever since the IACV adjust he did it doesnt seem to have alot of power through the band.... if that makes any sense

IIRC you warm up the car then shut it off and unplug the tps. Restart car with tps unplugged then adjust accordingly. Once you adjust it reconnect tps and your done. I would run a quick boost leak test before you adjust the IACV so you don't have to readjust in the event you find a leak just fyi :D.

first
whats the history on the engine , is that urs mark?

how does it idle? surges?
if so , change coolant temp sensor
also dont know engine history but u should pull off intake mani , clean the fuck outa it and the iacv ,
ask charles how my car sounds now , shits runnin bad ass him and corey saw it the other night

how exacly did u clean the maf?
u should get maf cleaner if u didnt use it , spray the shit outa it all up in the hole over the sensor and all dry it and put it back

are you adjusting idle at the throttle cable bracket? put it all the way loose clean all that stuff , start , redo timing and adjust iacv

wht is vacuum set at ? should be 20

when you adjust the iacv now does it do anything? if not its eather fucked or dirty as shit

this is from self experience , you saw how my car ran before , it drove , but ran shitty , ask charles and corey how it is they heard it the other night , no surging or anything

also how do the spark plugs look?

alright so I check all intercooler pipes via pressure tester, found 4 leaks...go figure fuck intercooler pipes but fixed them all and "adjusted the IACV" and while i was turning, it didn't react to really anything no change in idle or anything... now a odd thing i found out was with the tps removed while doing adjustments I told my dad to hold it at 2,000rpms which I couldn't do before and it held, had a little misfire in the exhaust i could hear but it held it perfectly no drop of rpms at 1,900rpms like before so I plugged it back in and told him to hold it again at 2grand and it was doing the drop in rpms thing again... im stumped man I dont understand what it could be.. all i know is i will pick up a new pair of NGK's at work tomorrow for the misfire.....anyone got a clue?

thing is , ur car will run a shit load better with tps unglugged atleast thats how it looks , pedro was with me when we worked on my car , we thought we fixed , pluged the tps back in and didnt do shit lol

what spark plugs are u buying?

bkr6e-11?

and take off intake mani and iacv and clean and clean maf and get coolant temp sensor

Feldmeister

Im not gonna buy a damn coolant temp sensor my shit works fine.. As for my spark plugs NGK BK7RE. They are the best been using em in all my 240s man including the 14... But im gonna prob go and buy a adjustable FPR cause i think that may have something to do with it also i will get in there and rip the intake off cause im gonna grab a aftermarket one and then i can clean it or if its bad replace the fuck for $200

killakingquan

coolant sensor is like 20 bucks , and u dont need a adj fpr and u dont need a aftermarket intake one just clean the one u have

and how do you know ur coolant temp works good?? u cant even test them

and were talking about the ecu one not the one for the gauge

Feldmeister
12-29-2009, 10:29 PM
oh i see well u got a part number?

Feldmeister
12-29-2009, 10:32 PM
and did your engine have the same problem mine did about when you slowly bring it up to 1,900rpms it will start to fluctuate in rpms like in the end of the movie? cause something seems like this bitch is off.

And another thing is it doesnt have a bov so why the hell does it do the rpm drop when you rev and let off, from previous experience I know that not supposed to happen at such a extreme rpm drop like im having... Its like im running a open atmospheric bov? boggles my mind. Where the hell is charles?, quan give me his number i lost everyones number.

you can test the CTS dummy its in the FSM you test resistance on it. It's got a range list that you compare. Don't be a fool and post nonsense...

pete do you got anything else you can think of that may be wrong?

Feldmeister
12-31-2009, 10:23 AM
It's may be an sr but I've had plenty before just can't put my finger on this shit cause it boggles my mind why the car is I guess running so rich cause it acts like I have a open amospherical bov but I don got anyhing and the car stalls coming to a stop.

killakingquan

haha shut up pedro

and mark just do the maintenence we said and u will be ok
u dont need a after market fpr or aftermarket intake juss clean the stuff u have , and check all GROUNDS

again i say CHECK ALL GROUNDS

u can have the most baller setup ever and have shity grounds and ur car drives like shit no matter wat

and what is the vacuum at

Feldmeister
12-31-2009, 09:45 PM
The vacuum is at -18 at idle which I believe is ok? I cant remember what shit was back a year ago when i had the 14 been so long, to long..

killakingquan
12-31-2009, 09:51 PM
slightly off , could be gauge or slight boost leak but hard to tell with idle fluctuation and all ,

try and that stuff let us know what happens ,

Feldmeister

It's a cheap gauge so I wouldn't doubt it my friend brok my old school hks boost gauge Charles gave me...

mk3 supra day
01-20-2010, 01:24 AM
dont know about the 240sx but does it have a TPS and have you cleaned the hell out of MAS i know my supra did something simalur so i cleaned everything i could think of and changed the tps and went to change the MAS but the used one i bot didnt work but when i put the old one back on everything worked perfected. it took about three days of driving to tune the idle but now it all work great.

it sounds like either a boost leak, timing is a little off, turbo may have a few problems itself, also did you check your fuses? does it have a new ecu?

driftwood_na

Sounds like its misfiring from poor timing to me maybe not tho.
