alright this is the way i picked up my sr

from a friend as you may know him on the board as sr20d2fourT who sold it to another friend who some how pulled a 13.1 @108 old stock clutch boost leak and bold as hell tires...
so bald that they spin and smoked across the 8th mile haha.

it sat for over a year to swap in to another body never happed so i had a heart and took it in.

sat here for a few months

me and a friend cracked it open saw some of this

and inspired me to build it up a bit

then sat some more like this

bought a bunch of stuff

got the block done the head is still pending

picked up a really clean 89 hatch

and the last thing so far i picked up a gt28r17 .64 from psm with some taka lines

hey surge need ur advise

wat oil restrictor did you use

this is off sagu writeup and i searched on that site

http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?

do you just put one between the oil line?
the oil return or the other side?
which one did you get

edit: it was on 4th page lol

it's the T28 turbo oil drain tube. it's longer and angled a bit differently. The restrictor goes between the oil-inlet on the turbo and the oil line. it will screw right into the turbo. as for the intake you can use whatever you want as long as it doesn't restrict flow.

but still which one did you use?

i mean exactly what i said lol, sure the 2871 is "bigger" than the stock. by big i meant like the kind of turbos you see on drag cars, anything like a t04 or larger is what i would call big. what i was implying is that running straight -3an into a turbo is usually sufficent, and running -4an usually leads to too much oil being introduced into the bearings causing it to ruin the seals. this all depends on the oil return as well, making sure you have a clear path that more oil can flow through without any kinks or bends means your turbo will be happy and not blow up. is that better? ;D

Cattman

if im not mistaken, which i may be, i think im running -3an on my t3/t04

19-22mpg out of the box

Camo
10-06-2008, 09:02 PM
you need an ls1 with a mild cam for that, lol

headwork, cams, injectors, tune, 18-20lbs on 2871r= 400hp
Im looking to run the same setup as most of these guys but mabey not 20lbs, looking for around 300-350hp

go here http://zilvia.net/f/tech-talk/124925-gt2871-users-sr-motor.html

Surge
10-06-2008, 09:37 PM
not with a ls2 ;D

but im going for 350hp with my build if no one picks it up i think it can work out

on a serious note, if you are thinking about going LS(insert # here) then consider ryans LS1, he pretty much has everything ready to go including the Z06 cams which would put you pretty much where you want to be power and MPG wise ;)

i thought you had a -4an line on yours matt, i could check it against the -3an i have on the mx6 but thats too far to walk right now :D

killakingquan

i never got that Z06 cam. The cam I have is bigger. Im basically building the same sr as you surge, just a few different parts. Well see where 15lbs get me :)
