I'd love to see you time attack in his car with no power steering that'd be grand.
The event will be in Corpus Christi. It will be where ever the local autocross is held in September. We are currently running the STBR autocross at Cabaniss NALF, but this weekends autocross may be the last one there. We are working on moving it to Waldron Airfield in Flour Bluff, on the east side of Corpus Christi going towards the island.
As soon as I know the location for sure, I will post it on here and on my website.
Just keep watching for updates.
And yeah, I would like to see Smoke 'Em Motorsports running a team out there.
P.S. Power steering not needed. I don't have any.

is this in acordination with NASA aswell or team C4 by themselves?
I am sponsoring this event myself. But SCCA is letting us run this at their regular autocross. It's basically a regular autocross. You will be classed using regular SCCA classing, but there will be a separate classing just for the "Time Attack". There will be trophies for these 3 solo classes and a trophy for the "Fastest Team".
I am also working on getting other sponsors to donate extra prizes for winners, participants and hopefully door prizes for everyone in attendance.
I main purpose of this event is to attract some of the "street racers" away from racing on the streets and using our local motorsports events instead. This just a way to show them that they can have fun with their cars in a safe and legal environment.
It is also a way to help our local SCCA region continue to grow so they can keep providing us these events.
Our first Time Attack last year brought the entry count of our autocrosses from the usual 30 - 35 participants to about 75 during that event. Alot of the first time autocrossers that event are now regular participants.
I'm really hoping for a turnout as good or better than last year.
And I really want to see plenty of teams battling out there. So far, I have 5 teams registered. Most are newly created teams just for this event. And that is perfectly fine.

ryan u down i am lets test matts car out, wreck shop this sounds like it could be fun
Im interested in doing this. At the very least we could probably throw in some of the new DVDs that are out or something similar to the guys who win/place.
Keep us updated on how this is coming along
Hey Ryan, that would be awesome. Everyone loves drift DVDs.
I really hope you guys can make it down here in September for this event. There is an autocross this weekend down here. Maybe you guys can make it down here to get some practice in. $35 for both days if you are not an SCCA member or in the military. $25 if you are a member or military.
I'll keep you guys posted.
Were gonna try our best to make it down there. My car is down right now(LS1 swap) but hopefully will be ready by then and Matts car is almost ready to take out(S14 SR swap). Carls car is na KA so I dont think we'll be running that but we'll see what happends.
Sounds great Ryan. You guys just email me the info requested in the first post of this thread to register. The email address is in the same first post.
Thanks for the enthusiasm. Should be a really fun weekend.

im down car will be done, may be in houston at this time, ;D for those who know. but i hope i can make it!
Cattman, yes, it will be an autocross course.
We had an autocross this weekend and the course was kinda long for an autocross course, but really fast. So the times were under a minute. Had a blast today. I'm sure we'll have a great new course for the Time Attack.
Clarkbar, hope you can make it out here for this.

POS!!!! j/k :P
So, who is still thinking about entering this event?
Can I get a roll call? Even if you don't know if you are going, but want to and are gonna try. No commitments.
Myself, Carl, Matt, Chris, Charles, and maybe 2 other 240 guys that dont get online(Chris, Hector)
That sounds awesome Ryan. So, are you guys all running as a team? Team Drift Texas maybe? Or is there more than one team? Or are you guys just running solo competition?

Thanks guys.
