was wondering if anyone here is running a 2nd gen 7 and what suspension set up ur running. Rebuilding the car from the ground up with a 20b so if just beefing up the suspension will prevent me from custom making a front sway bar then i might as well tune it for drifting since that is what i want to turn the car into.

why is it all me? you act like i know everything about them lol. im too broke to afford anything fancy right now haha.
well what i was planning on doing was mostly for steering angle, since the RX has pretty shitty full lock angle, i wanted to basically move the mounting points for the steering arm closer inside to get more angle. http://fc3spro.com/TECH/DRIFT/dori.html

they have a good section to kind of go from if you plan on drifting, you seem to have the power figured out already ;D

As far as drifting is concerned I would think one of the first suspension mods on the seven would be the "toe steer eliminators" so that you don't have to fight the car as much. I don't know too much about them but that seems to be one of the issues with the 7. I don't know too much about rx7s but my guess is just try and get all the slop out of your suspension via poly bushings or aftermarket arms. What you want really want is to get that suspension back in working order to make it predictable. Some working suspension, good clutch ,diff can take a long way.

what pete is talking about is the DTS bushings in the rear, basically they add toe under hard turns to make the car steer easier, but after a certain point the car tends to just spin. basically they make the car less predictable for drifting. i think it was maztrix that made the eliminators, but i might be wrong. i almost forgot about those, good call pete

Buy every bushing Montgomery Machine Racing makes. It's like MMR-direct.com or something like that. That will get you started. Coilovers or you wont be able to fit hardly any wide wheel and tire combos past a factory style strut. I have KYB AGX struts and the cars lowered like 1.5" on factory wheels and the inside of the tire rubs on the bottom coil of the spring a bit. Just 205/60 16s nothing crazy but its annoying.
Modify the steering for more angle. That's on my to do list next as well.
swaybars
an alignment
stuff like that

Sway bars are the most worthless shit you can do in an FC, and if you have knuckles you will have to pull the front sway bar out anyway to clear it. If you dont, the steering will bind up on you and you will fuck your shit up.
RX7's are the most simple shit in the world to modify on a budget. If anyone has any questions, let me know, I know how to buy expensive shit that works and modify your stock shit to work the same damn way.
