i want to get this done i was just wondering if there where any reasons it would be a bad idea for a daily driven basically stock KA. who knows of people who can do it? i was told boost logic would do it for me.

pro's: CHeap, predictable
con's: daily driving in wet weather is a slide fest. So becareful...
turning sharp @ low speeds makes a chirping sound. (2ways make a clunking sound take your pick)

people complain about "adverse tire wear" but it doesn't really mess up your tire life unless your always tryin to make 180 type turns going 5mph...

that and if your complaining about having tire wear with your welded diff then you shouldnt have a welded diff.

having a w.d. in a ka is fine i never really had any problems with it, even in the rain and i have rt615's in the front and bald neogen's in the rear. and if your gonna try to slide it, it makes life so much better, no more right rear burn outs anymore!

oh yah, ive heard the chirping sound, its not bad at all. but drifting with them is like 100 times better?

trendyslide

2 way does pretty much what a welded diff does. Spins on decel and accel.

Welded diff's are fun. However, I can't do it anymore.

i don't know why people are so scared of welded diff.s they're so cheap, they works surprisingly well and they're FUCKIN CHEAP.

if you get a 2way. you have to do fluid changes, otherwise those little clutch doodad's will take a royal shit on you. and those fluids for those diff.s normally aren't cheap. Eespecially since kaaz and most other good brand name diff.s say you gotta use the fluid they disgned for their diff.

in the end you will pay way too much.

weld the bitch, and be on your way

soo, predictable, as in you know which wheels are going to spin, rather than unpredictable with open diffs?

trendyslide
01-22-2009, 11:37 PM
no

predictable as in, you knwo both are gonna spin at a certain point.

eh me leo
01-23-2009, 01:53 AM
both wheels will always spin at the same time no matter what.

Ive had a 2 way, it sucked. Might as well just be welded. It clunks and sounds nasty when you turn at low speeds. Why waste several hundred dollars on something that you can get done for $50?

quan, id buy ur welded diff if you get a 2 way, unless if ryan could do it cheeper?

Camo
01-26-2009, 12:49 AM
Ill usually do em for about $50. That includes...you taking it out, I clean it, weld it, clean it, and reseal it. If it breaks, which it wont, Ill do it for free the next time. I believe the one quan has I welded as well. Just about everyone in SA that drifts is rolling around on a diff Ive done.

Jakins
01-26-2009, 04:08 PM
lol, alright sweet, is this a One dayer?

killakingquan
01-26-2009, 05:01 PM
yea some guy had welded mine before then ryan said the welds werent strong enough , so he took it for me and redid it ,

i still have a s14 open diff , it can go in a s14 or s13 , and ryan can weld it if u want that way you can do like i did and be able to juss swap ur diff with no down time

Jakins
01-26-2009, 11:57 PM
yah, i was thinking about asking that. ill definetly let you know when im ready and we could just swap like that.
