View Full Version : Parts shop max DIY kit
Parts shop max is now offering a DIY kit for their super angle Steering knuckles $250
PLEASE DO NOT buy this kit and try and attempt this if your are not a professional welder!
If you do end up picking these parts up. I know an old welder I have do all my hard stuff. He has done work on submarines so I think some spindles should be no big deal.

the lime green ones are bad ass
Its a retarded amount of steering angle. Im gonna wait til the 55degree kit comes out to pick these up. I wonder if MA is going to do something similar to this or try to compete with the DIY price.
*sigh* i hate you s chassis fags with your new technologies and shit.

they already to , we get it made for 350 lol i think thats bad ass im to scared for the whole diy , im not tryna diy havin some random person do it
im waitin to hear from tyler on a group by for ma knuckles
tyler talk to brian , see if he knows anyone out there wit a miata to test on
miata + knuckles = insane if they have the power to back it up
Oh trust me, the parts are out there, they just haven't been mass produced like this for the miata. The same guy who made my inner tie rods is working on adapting some supernow! fc outers that give ALOT of angle when coupled with my inners.
I'm just playing the waiting game now...

acctually supernow makes some for us and there is a writeup on how to modify the stock knuckle by making another hole closer to the center of the knuckle with a piece of pipe and some bracing around the pipe

I'm not gonna lie that looks kinda ghetto. Having the pivot point chopped and re-welded seems safer and looks much better. But what do I know I'm not an engineer.

the reason chopping the spindle and moving it is usually a bad idea is that you have a lot of stress being put on a weld from many angles since you have to have a bead go all the way around the arm and hope that you have enough penetration when you weld it so it doesn't just snap.

well as long as the welding wand is in the hands of a good welder that shouldn't be a problem...
yea it does look rough but it does give you more area to weld on. nobody is ever gonna see it with the wheel on so fuck it. if it works it works.
