ok so earlyer i was driveing and my batery light and break ligh stayed on and i didnt think anything of it. but when i went to go drifting a lil while ago my power started cutting out on me and my headlights got dimmer and dimmer untill they basicly where turned off. right as i got to my friends house i was idling at like 100 rpm and the car bearly drove so i shut it off. when i turned the car to the on position the lights turned on and i think the radio was working but the car wouldnt start. i think it all started after i was working on it to change the thermostat. whats the deal? is it the alternator or what? please help me. thanks.

check alt wiring , also hook another car up to it like ur jump starting it , and see what it does , or try a diffrent battery

i checked some wires, they seem ok. and i cant make it to advanced auto parts to test the alternator. i drove it a half miole from my friends house to mine, before it died, that i roll started it at my house to take it to advance and made it kinda down the street and it just died, like no fuel to it or something. man im so mad.

the alt isnt charging. when your battery gets down to 9v your ecu wacks out and starts cutting shit off. Don't get mad, we've all had the same shit happen. Double check everything again, wiring/fuses/connections and get yourself a volt meter.

yah, i can only check so much wireing though. i would take it to advanced auto parts but i know i wont make it there. im thinking the alternater its self is done though. i think i may just replace the alternator. can i take it off and get it tested posibly? im wondering though, because it threw the battery/break light after i changed the thermostat, im wondering if it got wet and messed up that way.

i hate to revive an old thread but just curious to know if replacing the alternator fixed your problem...i had a similar problem after putting on my UR pulley set...im just running the crank pulley now and replaced the alternator about 2 months ago when i first had this problem and now the battery and brake light turned on again the other day...and the car squeals after 2.5k rpms

yes take your alt off walk down to advanced and they will test it for you for free!!
if it testes good then take your battery down there and have that tested it is free as well!!
if that is good then check all your fuses in car and under the hood!!
if that is not it check wiring to the alt and the connections...

yah do that. it is what i did. in a different order though. fuses first. look for a 10 amp to be blown i think? i forgot what it was. next get the other things checked including wires. sounds like you need to tighten the belt though maybe?

isn't the alternator fuse the 15$ 75amp fuse you can only get at dealerships?

Jakins

maybe but when it happend to me i looked it up and the common problem was a 15 or 10 amp that goes out under the dash I THINK.

u can get a cheap fuse and wire it in your self, but u should def get a volt meter or a test light to check the fuses and volts
