spray a degreaser EVERYWHERE ON IT and let it drip out all the nasty

Yup, get a bottle or two of brake clean or degreaser and spray that thing like crazy.

and just let it sit upside down and run out?

That'll do it. I'm sure you can use a rag and wipe it up to speed up the drying process, but yeah it's pretty much that easy.

i think its about as clean as im gonna get it now. it spins kindof roughly, but i guess it will probly be better with fluid in it.
Brake cleaner/Degreaser will work fine. If you use water make sure to brake clean it out afterwards so you dont rust the bearings.

so wait you just dump degreaser in and dump it out? or you open the case and do it.. i think on mine im just going to throw this royal purple in and slap this baby on.. tomarrow i shall have no more open diff.. but i would like to get the open one welded for use later on down the line

yah, i have the case open. royal purple for the diff? that sounds good.
yes, take the cover off and blast it out. I wouldnt waste money on royal purple for a welded diff. All you need is some cheap 90w gear oil.

yah, even though it is welded it still has gears in there, and barings and stuff. maybe not full racing synthetic motor oil but ill put something decent in it. i dont want to lose any of my non existant power
