there aren't any. you might be pulled over if its outrageously obnoxious, but even then if you dont drive like an asshole, you'll be fine.

texas doesnt care what you do to the car so long as you pass the state inspection every year. (all working lights, working wipers, no check engine light, no smoke, etc etc etc.) some counties will have to put the car on a dyno to put a sniffer in the exhaust, but others just check lights and wipers and send you on your way.

If I remember correctly, there are a select few counties in Texas that do emissions. Bexar is not an emissions strict county.

main item for inspection for texas is if it is equipped with a cat,it must be present,doesnt matter if its high flow or not,so you can have a complete built exhaust,but as long as you have a cat your fine,i used to do inspections before, and ive seen plenty of those.

The way i see it is if you're low enough so that the cop can't physically see that its not legal than its fine. And have someone that gets you an inspection sticker. Simple as that.

i had a bug with a complete stright pipe and a megaphone. it was loud and i only got pulled over where the cops pull you over for 1mph over the speed. set a lot of cars up with stright pipes. to pass "inspection" the car must have the same emission equipment it had originaly. ie it must have 1 cat it thats wha tit had stock.
the funny story is a 89 mercades 300d body with a 1jz motor and tranny from a supa with a 2.5in stright pipe, the inspector said it had to have 1 cat and it didnt have it so he wont sign the paper. we opened the door to show him a diesel bad on the car, he laughed and gave me my pass :D get a older car that never had a cat
