So this is a very difficult sensor to change out. Its is said that you can take either a big long extension, or multiple extensions taped together, and reach it through the intake manifold like this.

This part is true, you can take it out relatively easily this way. unplug the knock sensor from the front and pull it out with the screw, just don't drop the screw down into the car because it is very difficult to get back out.
When you are putting it back in you can use a grabber thingy like in the picture and feed it through the front of the manifold. you can also use a cloths hanger. this is a pretty tedious task, you have to weave it through one of the tubes underneath there. For me screwing the thing back in with the extensions didnt work on my car because i couldnt put my wrench at the "lowest point" and the screw wouldn't catch the thread. It had to be something defferent between the cars because there was just another part there that wouldnt allow it.
As i got frustrated i found a better way, the ONLY way to do it. that is to get someone with tiny hands (my girlfriend was the only one around who fit the description at the time) and bypass all of the steps with the anoying clothes hanger/ grabber crap and have the person position the Sensor by hand and hold the screw in place. you will have to remove the fuel line to do this. they can begin to finger tighten it if possible.
Once the sensor is in place Have a person with the big long extension screw the sensor in.
